The most beautiful city on Earth

Someone made me notice that we tend to harp on the negative aspects of living in Paris, such as the congested traffic and metro, the high cost of living, etc.

Just to clear things up, I have to say that Paris IS the most beautiful city in the world (at least, of the cities I have been to thus far), and I am privileged and fortunate to live here.

The architecture, the monuments, the streets, the people, the cuisine, the wines, the culture, the museums, etc., make this an incredible place to live in. Just strolling down the Champs Elysees makes you feel alive and content.

Going to a fabulous restaurant, and having an excellent dinner with wine, is amazing.

Just looking at the people walking around, très chic and with an obvious "joie de vivre", makes you feel wonderful.

If we sometimes comment on the traffic, the metro, the dog poop and the smells, it is all because we would like to make it even better.

That said, I am reading a hilarious book on the downsides of life in Paris, entitled "A Year in the Merde", which is really, really funny :-)

Salut!
